I’m a licorice aficionado. I can quote from the Scoville Scale of chili pepper heat ratings. I am versed in the specifics of numerous unsolved mysteries of the twentieth century, their court proceedings, and their current statuses. I know these things because I have the intriguing, albeit distracting, habits of being curious about everything and quick with a search bar. The one thing I find I might like more than writing is researching. I have always been passionate about learning and sharing new ideas.
I’ve had the pleasure of working as an educator in several Oregon public schools and overseas in the small town of Adra, in Andalucia, Spain.
I love writing about two of my passions: fitness and writing, and I find that there’s no better way to exercise your mind than exploring the world. Sure, a few tough math problems might get you thinking, but the experiences of absorbing a new culture with different customs, strange sights, and foreign sounds is something that will never cease to be mind-boggling and exciting for me. I have had the joy of traveling and backpacking throughout Europe, and a handful of other countries around the world in Central America, Southeast Asia, and Africa, more than 20 countries in total, and through it all gained a wonderful appreciation for travel.
Although I’ve loved every minute of exploring the big wide world, the place I love to explore each and every day is my own backyard: the Pacific Northwest. Living in Portland, Oregon, I have always been enamored of the wild beauty of nature, the quirkiness of Oregon and Washington’s tiny towns and big cities, and of course the temperamental Northwest rain and I enjoy writing about each of these topics as well as sharing my own travel tips.
